Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School

Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School

Tampa

Built in 2017.

Designed by Rowe Architects Incorporated.

The project is an addition to the school campus that provides transformative classroom facilities necessary to convert the campus into a K-8 school. New program spaces include general classrooms for 6th through 8th grade students, science labs, a music suite, and the addition of a new covered playcourt. The site includes a number of large canopy trees including live oaks, some of which are protected grand oaks. The design focuses on preserving the precious open play field at the center of the campus, slotting the addition along the street edge in an effort to minimize both impact to the tree canopy as well as the school community, its learning environments, and its planned future growth.
