Lynn University Mohammed Indimi International Business Center

Lynn University Mohammed Indimi International Business Center

Boca Raton

Built in 2014.

Designed by Gensler.

The building takes its conceptual cues from local banyan trees. These iconic flora of South Florida are known for their aerial roots and branches, which form robust connective networks that hang off a main trunk. The IBC is structured similarly. It offers faculty areas, classrooms, and collaboration zones that all hang off a main trunk, or corridor, which encourages interactions between faculty and students. One of those branches is the Idea Lab, a start-up space for Lynn alumni who are launching new ventures. The lab effectively brings entrepreneurs into the mix of students and faculty, providing greater opportunities for idea exchange. Additional out-of-classroom learning comes in the form of the IBC’s incubator space, which offers a location for corporations to set up small local offices.
